Dear Mr. Pop History - On the TV show "All in the Family," we were introduced to the Jeffersons. I seem to recall that none of the people who played the Willises were the same as the ones on the Jeffersons spin off. Could you find the names of the original actors?  Thanks for your help Keith.

Mr. Pop History – Well almost. There was only one (different) Jefferson and he appeared during the first two seasons. The original “Jefferson” on “All In the Family” was Henry Jefferson who was played by Mel Stuart. For some reason, George was substituted for Henry two years into the series, and as we all know, was played by wonderfully by Sherman Hemsley. This is when two other main “Jeffersons” characters were introduced and they would go on to the spin-off.

Come back soon, as I answer, to the best of my knowledge, another one of your pop history/culture questions.
